Tips to Stay Safe While Traveling

The holiday season is the perfect time to pack your bags to take a holiday vacation. While you are gone, it is important to make sure that you know how to protect your belongings. Keep these travel safety tips in mind to help prevent theft during your getaway.

  • Make your home look full – ask the post office to hold your mail while you are gone so that your mailbox is not overflowing. Install a timer on lights in your home so that your home does not stay dark while you are gone.
  • Pack smart – if you are flying, keep all of your valuable items in your carry on in case your suitcase is stolen or lost.
  • Stay safe on the road – if you are driving to your vacation destination, limit the number of distractions in your vehicle to ensure that you arrive safely. Stop as often as necessary to stretch your legs and to help prevent you from getting drowsy.
