Camping Safety 101
Camping is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors with your whole family. No matter if you are popping up a tent, or finding a spot to park your RV, there are certain rules that you should follow to help make the camping experience pleasant for everyone. Keep these camping safety tips in mind while planning your next trip.
- Watch the volume – most people want their camping experience to be quiet and serene, which can easily be ruined by loud music or other noises. Turn off your car alarm so it does not accidentally go off, and always observe the quiet hours of the campground. Keep in mind that sound can travel very easily in open outdoor areas.
- Get a good scooper – if you are bringing your dog with you on your trip, make sure to always clean up after them as soon as possible. Your pet should also be on a leash at all times to avoid any issues with other animals, both pets and wild animals in the campground.
- Stay on the path – when walking around the campground, do not walk through other’s sites. Even though it may take a little longer to get to where you are going, never take a shortcut where other people are set up.
- Keep it clean – do your part to help the maintenance workers at the campground by cleaning up after yourself. Your campsite should be just as clean when you leave as when you got there.
