Winter Driving Safety Tips
The cold winter weather is officially here, which means snow and ice covered roads. To ensure that you stay safe behind the wheel this season, keep these winter driving tips in mind.
- Do not drive when you are tired. Driving while fatigued increases your chances of being involved in an accident on winter roads.
- Never warm up your car in an enclosed area, including your garage. Running your car in an enclosed area can cause dangerous carbon monoxide to build up.
- Always keep your gas tank at least half full to prevent gas line freeze ups. Keeping gas in your vehicle will also ensure that you have enough gas to keep warm if you get stuck.
- Do not use cruise control when you drive on winter roads to ensure that you always have full control of your car.
